MCM Summer Flute Camp
The Maryland Conservatory of
Music is pleased to announce the dates for the 2nd annual Flute Camp to occur
from June 21-25, 2010 at our Havre de Grace campus, located at 500 Warren
St. in Historic City of Havre de Grace. The time of the camp is 10am-12pm.
Open to all experienced flute students entering grades 5-9. Required materials
include a working flute, pencil(s), and a water bottle.
Daily exercises will include warm-up techniques, sight-reading, theory and
ear training exercises along with a different daily subject for discussion
to enhance all students knowledge of various areas of flute topics. We will
perform a short recital at the end of the week accompanied by light refreshments
for family and friends of the performers.
Director Beth Baker has taught flute in Harford County for 14 years, with
both combined classroom and studio teaching experiences. She received her
BA in Music from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and is working
towards her MM in Music Performance at the University of Delaware. Recepient
of the William A. Humbert Memorial Scholarship, Ms. Baker performs various
styles of music along the east coast. Her teachers include Eileen Grycky,
Lisa Cella, and Sara Nichols.
