Christine Robbins, Violin Bachelor of Arts, Glassboro State College Christine Robbins, a native of New Jersey, is an alum of Glassboro State College with a BA in Violin Performance. She has performed with orchestras in the US and Europe, and has appeared as a soloist
in a variety of venues. Christine brings to the MCM 20 years of experience
teaching Violin and Viola. She has enjoyed working with students of
every age, young children through adult. Christine lives in Cecil
Co. with her husband, Bear. They are the parents of three children
and four grandchildren. |

Zach Branch, Cello

| B.M.-Towson University Zack Branch is a young cellist whose musical interests have led him to work in jazz, classical, popular, and folk music. An eager improviser, he enjoys exploring the boundaries of the cello in contemporary music. Born in Prince Frederick, Maryland, Zack moved to Towson in 2006 to study cello at Towson University on a scholarship. He graduated in the spring of 2010 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Instrumental Performance. Performance and recording experience includes the Litchfield Jazz Festival, performances with TU alumni and New York-based jazz musicians Drew Gress and Ellery Eskelin, performances with local improvisers Dave Ballou, MicroKingdom, and as well as the bands Ms. Sara and Help and Satabdi Express. Zack is a member of the Out of Your Head collective and has been featured on WTMD radio's Baltimore Unsigned.

Bachelor Music, Masters Degree, Peabody Conservatory of Music Jacqueline Pollauf is active performer and teacher based in the Mid-Atlantic region. She frequently appears in solo, orchestral, operatic and chamber music performances. In addition to teaching at the Maryland Conservatory of Music, Jacqueline is on faculty at the University of Maryland at Baltimore County, the Baltimore School for the Arts, and the Towson University Music Preparatory. Jacqueline holds a Master of Music in harp performance and pedagogy from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.

Serap Bastepe-Gray, Classical |

|
Serap Bastepe-Gray joined MCM this August as a Classical Guitar Instructor and the Associate Director for External Relations and Development. In October, her responsibilities were expanded to include internal operations. As a musician and teacher she brings us more than two decades of professional performance and teaching experience in various styles of music. A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory where she received her BM and MM degrees in Guitar Performance and was valedictorian of her graduating class, she performs regularly with guitar duo partner Julian Gray on chamber music series and at major guitar festivals in the U.S. including the International Guitar Institute Festival and The National Guitar Workshop Classical Guitar Summit. Also a medical doctor, she has written a number of articles and done consulting in the area of performance related injuries for musicians. Her interest in instrumental pedagogy lead to many collaborations with Peabody faculty as well as several grants for her projects on violin and guitar pedagogy. She edits guitar scores for MEL BAY Publications - the largest publisher and distributer of guitar music world-wide. As an administrator, Serap Bastepe-Gray brings us her decade long experience, connections and insight of the music business and conservatory tradition. Dr. Bastepe-Gray has worked with local and national media and musical event presenters as the Director of the Esin Arts Management Company. She has been involved in various projects of faculty governance at the Peabody Conservatory and has been elected to serve on the Steering Committee of the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Association Peabody Chapter as well as the Strategic Planning and Finance, and Marketing Committees of the same organization. Dr. Bastepe-Gray is also on the faculty at the Frederick Community College where she teaches applied guitar and music theory. She has recently been elected to serve on the FCC Senate. She lives in Hunt Valley with her husband Julian Gray , a world renowned classical
guitarist and her three children who play the violin and the piano.

Mark Edwards |

B.A. Columbia State University Guitarist Mark Edwards has been hailed by the Montgomery Advertiser as a player who “transfers to another zone, effortlessly strumming, plucking and picking a variety of classical masterpieces with clarity.”
Mark has been performing concerts since the young age of 14 and competing since 13. His first concert, performed at Baldwin Junior High School in Montgomery , Alabama , earned for him the Guitar Legend award. Since then, Mark has performed throughout the United States , Canada , Italy , and Germany . Recent performances in 2008 include engagements at ArtScape in Baltimore, the Guitar Forum Guest Artist Series at Salisbury University , the Thursday Noon Series at the Peabody Conservatory, the Village Music Series, and the AfterNow Music Series at the Red Room, a venue recently featured in Rolling Stone . In 2009, Mark joined the Maryland State Arts Council Touring Artist Roster, a program which offers concert presenters funding to showcase the best artists in Maryland .
From 1998 to present, Mark has earned 27 top prizes in the United States and Canada . These prizes include Le Concours International de Guitare de Lachine in Montreal , Canada , the 2007 Columbus State University Guitar Symposium, the Portland Guitar Festival XVI, 2006 Appalachian GuitarFest Solo Guitar Competition, the 2 nd Annual Guitar Competition at the Music Academy of North Carolina, and the National ASTA competition (Junior Division) held in Bloomington , Indiana . Recently, in April 2008, Mark won the Baltimore Music Clubs Competition in Baltimore , Maryland , and later top prize in the 2008 National Guitar Workshop/National D'addario Solo Competition, as well as the 2008 East Carolina University Guitar Competition. Mark was also a two-time semifinalist in the 2005 and 2006 Guitar Foundation of America Competition, as well as a semifinalist in the Majesty of Spain International Guitar Competition in Hattiesburg , Mississippi .
Mark recently graduated from Columbus State University , Magna Cum Laude from the University's most rigorous Honors program, and now attends the Peabody Institute of Music on full scholarship, studying with Julian Gray.

| Patrick Klink, Rock Ensemble |

Masters-Towson University Patrick Klink is a native of Baltimore County, MD and has been performing actively for fifteen years as a singer, guitarist, and percussionist. In the last decade, he has sung leading roles in opera and musical theatre productions, released six albums with the trio We're About 9, and performed throughout the U.S. and in Canada and seven European countries. An aspiring musicologist, Patrick is currently researching British vocal music from the early twentieth century. Patrick holds a Master of Music degree in voice performance from Towson University and is also on the voice faculty of the Maryland State Boychoir.

Jeffrey Hoover, Composition/Woodwinds Ph.D. - Texas Tech Univerisity M.M. & Bch.Sc. – Ball State University
Composition
Jeffrey Hoover comes to the Maryland Conservatory of Music with university and school teaching experience. Drawing on his 27 years of working in education, he is able to create an individual path for those who study composition with him. As a composer, he has received national and international awards and honors for his work, including the prestigious Trieste prize, awards from Mu Phi Epsilon, the Lancaster Fine Arts Festival, grants, publications, fellowships and over 20 commissions. Unique to Dr. Hoover's creative work, he also combines his personal visual artwork with his music and compositions. His teaching has included composition, music theory, music education, conducting small and large ensembles (classical and jazz), and private instrumental lessons.
Woodwinds
As woodwind player (saxophone - clarinet - flute), Jeffrey Hoover has performed throughout the United States, and in Russia and Europe. That experience as a soloist and ensemble performer has included both jazz and classical ensembles – jazz combo and big band, wind ensemble, orchestra, and theatre pit. Some of the luminaries he has had the opportunity to perform with include Rita Moreno, Arthur Fiedler, Doc Severinsen, Marv Stamm, Roger Pemberton, and Bob Hope.
Coming to the Maryland Conservatory of Music with 27 years of working in education, Dr. Hoover is able to bring that perspective to his teaching for the benefit of his students. His teaching has included jr. high, high school, and university level students.

B.A., Unviversity of Maryland Baltimore County Ms. Baker, a native of Harford County , brings more than 13 years of teaching experience to the conservatory. Her students annually participate in the local festivals and ensembles both at the county and state levels. She also teaches at Trinity Lutheran School in Joppa, where she heads the general music classes, elementary and middle school choruses and the instrumental music programs.
Ms. Baker is currently a degree candidate for a Master in Music, performance at the University of Delaware. As the 2006 recipient of the William A. Humbert Memorial Scholarship and a member of the Washington Flute Society, Elizabeth enjoys playing jazz and classical music in the Baltimore area.

Noelle Presby-Lipa , Clarinet |

Master of Music, Peabody Conservatory Clarinetist Noelle Presby Lipa holds a Bachelor of Music from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Music from Peabody Conservatory in clarinet performance. She has studied with renowned clarinetists such as Anthony Gigliotti, Edward Palanker, Steven Barta, Paul Green and George Sparks. She has performed with several groups such as the Florida Philharmonic, Symphony of the Americas, Gold Coast Opera, Boca Pops, Florida Wind Symphony, CCBC Cockpit in Court, NCSA Europe Touring Summer Orchestra and is currently performing with Arioso Trio, a professional woodwind/reed trio, also available as Quintaero, a woodwind quintet. Noelle is the Adjunct Clarinet Instructor at Harford Community College and was the clarinet adjudicator for Anne Arundel County Solo and Ensemble Festival in 2004. She has been a guest woodwind clinician at the Flordia Youth Conservatory several schools throughout her career. Noelle is an instrumental group instructor for the Instrumental Music Program in Catholic Schools throughout the area and she has maintained a private studio for nine years. She is currently teaching at Maryland Conservatory of Music, CCBC, A.R.T.I~S.T., and Musicians Institute of Baltimore and has a home studio in Baltimore, Maryland. She has previously taught at studios such as Towson University Preparatory Division, CCBC Continuing Education Department, Chesapeake Arts Center and Mars Music. |

| Kimberly Buchar Kelley, Bassoon Doctor of Musical Arts, University of Illinois, U-C. Bassoonist Dr. Kimberly D. Buchar Kelley received her degrees in bassoon performance from the Harid Conservatory in 1997, the Eastman School of Music in 1999, and in the May 2005 she earned her DMA at the University of Illinois . Kimberly has taught bassoon and double reed method classes at Millikin University , Eastern Illinois University , Chestnut Hill College , and at the University of Illinois as a sabbatical replacement. She has performed in various orchestras such as the Illinois Symphony, New World Symphony, Palm Beach Opera, Sinfonia da Camera, BACH Ensemble, Lancaster Symphony, and the York Symphony. She is a member of the Dickinson Faculty Woodwind Quintet, the Pennsylvania Academy Woodwind Quintet, Messiah College Faculty Quintet, and a founding member of the Trelumina Trio. Her major teachers include Phillip Kolker, Arthur Weisberg, John Hunt, and Timothy McGovern. Currently, Dr. Kelley is teaching bassoon at Dickinson College , Franklin and Marshall College , York College , Messiah College , the Maryland Conservatory of Music, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Music, and performing throughout the area. |

Emily Madsen, Oboe |
|
|
Bachelor of Music, Yale University Master of Music, Peabody Conservatory of Music Emily Madsen is currently the principal oboist of the Naval Academy Band in Annapolis. Prior to enlisting in the Navy, she played the oboe and English horn with the U.S. Army Field Band from 2004 to 2007. In the Army Field Band, she performed as a soloist and as a clinician with the Woodwind Ambassadors.
Mrs. Madsen is from Reston, Virginia and is currently pursuing a doctor of musical arts degree at the University of Maryland. She received a bachelor of music degree from the Eastman School of Music in oboe performance and music education in 2001. In 2004, Emily earned a master of music degree in oboe performance from the Yale School of Music. While at Yale, she won an award for organizing and participating in the outreach teaching program between Yale and the New Haven Public Scchools. Her primary teachers have included Carol Stephenson, Richard Killmer, Mark Hill, and Jacqueline LeClair.

| Gina Parks, Saxophone |

| . Originally from the midwest, Gina Parks is an active saxophone teacher and performer in the Baltimore/D.C. area. Previously, she was the Instructor of Saxophone at Grinnell College (IA) and Concordia University (NE), teaching applied saxophone and saxophone ensemble.
Gina has also been a private instructor for over 15 years, with students going on to win numerous competitions and chair placements, become music education majors, music performance majors, and lifelong music lovers. Gina also enjoys getting to know each student personally so that she can help foster their own personal strengths. She especially enjoys working with middle school and high school students and the mentoring that can be involved at such age.
Gina Parks is currently a Doctoral candidate at The University of Iowa and holds a Master of Arts degree in Saxophone Performance from The University of Iowa where she was a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Performance Fellow with saxophonist Kenneth Tse. Parks has also earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska .

Randy's career as a tubist has spanned more than 1/4 century. He studied privately with W. Daniel Brown, Paul Krzywicki and Warren Deck of the Baltimore Symphony, Philadelphia and New York Philharmonic Orchestras respectively. He also studied with David Fedderly, the current Principal Tubist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Randy currently holds the position of Principal Tuba with the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra and the Homewood Brass Consort ( www.homewoodbrass.com ). In the past he held the same position with the Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra, Haddonfield Symphony Orchestra, Prince George 's Symphony Orchestra, Melrose Brass Consort, Atlantic Brass and the Monumental Brass Quintet. His free-lance career has run the gamut of appearances with the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus band to appearances as a substitute/extra with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Bay-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. As a private instructor of tuba, euphonium and trombone, Randy has much success. In 2001, four of the five tubists, including the Principal Tubist, in the Baltimore County Middle School All-County Band were Randy's Students. That same year, the Principal Trombonist of the Baltimore County High School All-County Orchestra also studied with Randy. In 1994, two of Randy's students, a high school tubist and a trombonist from Howard County made the Maryland All-State Band. |

| Bachelor of Music, Towson University Master of Music, Peabody Conservatory of Music Chris received his BS from Towson University where he earned a teaching certification in music education. While at Towson he performed with the renowned jazz ensemble under the direction of the late Hank Levy. Chris received a Masters degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music where he was a graduate teaching assistant in the education department. While there he developed an interest with computer assisted instruction software and beta tested algorhythmic technology for Yamaha, Korg, and Roland. Chris has taught instrumental music on both the elementary and secondary levels in Baltimore County Public Schools in addition to being an adjunct faculty member at Harford Community College . He also holds the Advanced Professional Certificate in teaching from the Maryland State Dept. of Education.
A talented multi-instrumentalist, Chris has been performing professionally for the past 30 years as an avid trumpeter, guitarist and pianist. He has performed as a freelance commercial artist in the Baltimore-Washington area performing in various genres including orchestral, swing band, rock band and soloist. Chris has performed cocktail piano music at many local and regional events for formal affairs. As a composer, Chris has written music for Towson University Ensemble Dancers, United Way of Maryland, Baltimore County Schools as well as arranged music for numerous events and occassions.
Currently, Chris is President of DataScan, an information systems/data management company which he founded in 1995. He is currently the webmaster and computer consultant for MCM. Chris was elected MCM Board Chairman in July 2008 by the Board of Trustees and has been a Board member since 2007.

Jay DeWitt, Percussion |

Jay DeWitt has been one of the premiere drum instructors in Maryland for almost a decade. With a fresh, progressive perspective on the art of teaching he has helped mold students of all ages into accomplished, competent musicians. Many drummers Jay has taught in the past have gone on to pursue successful musical endeavors as well as degrees from acclaimed music institutions such as Berklee College of Music. With a rich, diversified history Jay is able to bring his profound musical experiences to the lesson room providing the most well rounded instruction for even the absolute beginner. Mr. DeWitt can be seen performing
throughout the region across a broad scale of genres including jazz,
rock, folk, latin, funk and country. Jay has done television and radio
performances and is in demand as a session drummer for various artists'
recordings. The bedrock of his teaching philosophy is that each student
should be seen for their unique individuality and that no two students
necessitate the same curriculum. A student's own needs and interests
are paramount in laying the strongest foundation from which boundless
success may be attained. |

Pianist Christopher Dillon, is a three-time finalist and winner of the Alice Nelson Music Scholarship Competition. He was a featured piano soloist with the San Luis Obispo County Symphony at the age of 17. That same year, he attended the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, where he studied with Edward Auer and received the studio award. His pre-conservatory education culminated with a year under the tutelage of eminent pianist Jerome Lowenthal. Dr. Dillon pursued his higher education at the Eastman School of Music, the Oberlin Conservatory, and the Peabody Institute. While at Peabody, he studied with Julian Martin, Ellen Mack, and Robert MacDonald. After receiving his doctorate from Peabody, he served as adjunct faculty there for three years. His pedagogical activities also include eight years of private teaching experience. Dr. Dillon is presently adjunct faculty at Towson University, where he has taught class piano, theory, and ear training.

Peggy Mukai, Piano |

Peggy Mukai holds a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio and a Master of Music in piano performance from the University of North Carolina , Chapel Hill . She has taught piano for over twenty years, including teaching positions at the University of North Carolina and Kansas State University . Peggy lived in New York City for ten years, where she accompanied vocalists and instrumentalists and performed in ensembles throughout the New York City area. While there, she also maintained a private piano studio, taught music classes for young children, and directed the choir of Christ the Savior Orthodox Church. Subsequently, while residing in Europe , she taught piano and conducted the choir of St. Nektarios Orthodox Church in Bischofsheim , Germany . Since moving to Maryland , Peggy has taught music classes for all ages and is currently the choir director at Four Evangelists Orthodox Mission in Bel Air. She has performed with soprano Yvonne Hook, vocal instructor at the Maryland Conservatory of Music, and accompanies vocal and instrumental students at MCM. Peggy joined the MCM piano faculty in 2007. |

| Doctor of Musical Artsc, Peabody Conservatory of Music Joseph Satava, a native of Cleveland , Ohio , is a recent doctoral graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University where he was the recipient of the Frances W. Wentz Turner Memorial Prize in Piano. He was awarded a Peabody Career Award Development Grant to complete a residency at the Banff Centre for Performing Arts in Alberta , Canada . Joseph received his Master's degree at the Juilliard School and his Bachelor's at the Peabody Conservatory. His primary teachers have included Julian Martin, Marc Durand, Jerome Lowenthal, and Ann Schein. Joseph has participated in the Aspen Summer Music Festival, the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, the Music Academy of the West Summer Music Festival, the American Conservatory of Fontainbleau, France, and the International Piano Festival in Gijon , Spain . Joseph has taken prizes in the Miecyslaw Munz piano competition, the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra concerto competition, the Peggy and Yale Gordon piano competition, and was the recipient of the Promising Young Artist award from the National Society of Arts and Letters in Washington D.C. Most recently, he was selected to participate in the Jaen International Piano Competition in Spain . Satava has collaborated with orchestras and conductors throughout the US and Spain . He has appeared in Alice Tully Hall as part of the Focus! Festival for contemporary music and was most recently seen in Merkin Concert Hall in New York City performing works of Keith Kramer. Joseph has performed at the French Consulate in New York City and the French Embassy in Washington D.C. as part of the ‘Rising Star' series. Satava was invited twice to perform for the Texas Conservatory for Young Artists in Dallas and recently appeared in recital at the Steinway Gallery in Tucson , Arizona . Joseph also holds faculty positions at Harford Community College and the Bryn Mawr School and is the program coordinator for the Gijón International Piano Festival in Gijón , Spain . |

| BS, Towson Unviversity Master of Music, Indiana University . Elizabeth Borowsky has performed in such distinguished venues as Carnegie Hall, Boesendorfer Hall, the Beethoven House, Strathmore Hall, and the Kennedy Center, at international music festival, and as a soloist with orchestras in the USA, Germany, Poland, China, and Israel. Her CD recordings for Intermuse have been enthusiastically received by the public and critics alike. She is the recipient of awards and prizes including the Heidelberg Grand Prix, Kosciuszko Foundation Graduate Scholarship, Pro Sinfonika Award for Promoting Classical Music Among Youth, Chopin Foundation of the United States Scholarship for Young Pianists, Maryland International Education Association Scholarship, and Merit Award from the U. S. National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. In 2008, the Rhein-Neckar Kulturstiftung (Germany) awarded her an Artist-in-Residence grant to live and perform at the Dilsberg Castle. She holds degrees from Towson University (Bachelor of Music) and Indiana University (Master of Music) and also studied at Trinity College of Music in London. She has composed and published music for piano, violin, cello, trio, string orchestra, and winds. Her enthusiasm for music and people is clearly visible both on- and off- the concert stage. She has given masterclasses in Europe and Asia, and has been on the faculty of the International Music Institute and Festival USA since 2003. She has also taught at Indiana University – Bloomington.

BS, Susquehanna Unviversity Master of Music, Towson University Ms. Ballard has completed additional post graduate work at Loyola College, The Peabody Conservatory and the University of Connecticut . Barbara taught in Baltimore County schools for 15 years, specializing in high school vocal music, general music, and classical piano. She then moved to Connecticut and taught for an additional 17 years at Region 6 schools, specializing again in high school vocal music and theater. Professionally, she has sung as a paid church soloist and with the Baltimore Symphony Chorus and directed many plays and musicals. |

Peabody Conservtory of Music, Graduate Performance The University of Western Ontario, Bachelor of Music Critically acclaimed Canadian soprano Bonnie McNaughton enjoys a wide variety of repertoire ranging from Baroque to Contemporary. She has been commended for her impressive fioratura, musical versatility and strong acting skills (Severna Park Voice). Her dramatic and musical portrayal of Venus (Venus and Adonis) was described as “phenomenal” (John's Hopkins Gazette) and the Washington Post wrote that she “…shone with sweet-toned, emotionally arresting singing.” in the title role of La Didone, as part of the Washington Early Music Festival. Other opera roles include: Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos) , La Fée (Cendrillon) , Cunegonde ( Candide) , Calisto ( La Calisto ), Hagar (Hotel Eden) , The Elf ( Perlimplin) and Nanetta and Rosemene in scenes from Falstaff and Imeneo . Ms. McNaughton's concert performances include solos with The Baltimore Symphony, The Anne Arundel Orchestra, The Annapolis Opera and The JHMI Choral Society. She has also appeared in various concert series' including: An Die Musik Live! and Tuesday Noon at Old St. Paul . Previously her work with composer Peter Sculthorpe took her to Glen Gould hall in Toronto where she performed a selection of his works in a pre-show for CBC's ‘2 New Hours'. Ms. McNaughton holds a Graduate Performance Diploma from The Peabody Conservatory of Music where she was also awarded the Anita Erdman Opera Award. She has been teaching private voice lessons at the Maryland Conservatory of Music since 2005, and created for MCM the summer camp “Vocal Workshop” for young singers interested in performing and learning more about a career in the performing arts. |

Samantha Heere-Beyer, Voice/Office Mgr. Soprano Samantha Heere-Beyer received her Bachelor of Arts in Voice from Lebanon Valley College in 2003, graduating Summa cum Laude and with Departmental Honors for her thesis on the life and works of Baroque composer, Barbara Strozzi. She was awarded the Reynaldo Rovers Memorial Award, an award bestowed upon a “promising vocalist of high achievement.” During her four years at Lebanon Valley , she performed in many choral ensembles, including the College Choir, Concert Choir, and the more intimate Chamber Choir. Additionally, she performed a number of solo recitals, culminating in an hour long performance of repertoire ranging from Medieval French chant, to selections by Schütz, Handel, Mozart, Rossini, and Debussy, before closing with set by the incomparable, Cole Porter. As an undergraduate, Samantha began offering voice lessons under the direction of Dr. Rebecca Lister, honing her skills and knowledge in the fields of vocal pedagogy and literature.
Her interest in medieval and Renaissance vocal music led her to complete a Master of Arts in Historical Musicology from the University of Pittsburgh in the spring of 2009. At the University of Pittsburgh , Samantha taught Group Piano and Introduction to Western Art Music Classes, in addition to continuing to teach voice lessons to college students at the university. She continued performing, participating in Dr. Don Franklin's Bach Collegium and singing in a Renaissance Music Ensemble with some of her colleagues. Samantha completed her graduate study with an in-depth study on the music, musical and textual metaphors, proto-feminist aims, and mysterious life of Madalena Casulana, who is credited as being the first woman composer to have her works appear in print, entitled, Claiming Voice: Madalena Casulana and the Sixteenth-Century Italian Madrigal.
As the newest vocal teacher to join the Maryland Conservatory of Music staff, Samantha finds her passion in teaching music and helping her students reach their fullest potential, both as singers and as musicians.

| Monica Szabo,Voice Monica Szabó (Mezzo-Soprano), is a performing artist active in the Baltimore-Washington area whose opera credits include Mrs. Soames in Ned Rorem's Our Town , Sesto in Handel's Giulio Cesare, Nancy in Britten's Albert Herring, Prince Orlofsky in Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus, the Third Spirit in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Miss Todd in The Old Maid and the Thief and Mrs. Nolan in The Medium by Menotti. Her portrayal of Ines in Verdi's Il Trovatore with Washington's Summer Opera Theatre Company was described as “bright and ebullient” by The Washington Post. World premiere performances include Kathara in The Furies by Andrew Earle Simpson and Not- Pooh Songs for voice and oboe by Thomas Schnauber as a guest of Washington's Great Noise Ensemble. An avid art song performer, Ms. Szabó has performed in Central America, (Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua) Europe (Hungary and Austria) as well as in various venues in the Baltimore-Washington area. She was the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship to study at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. She has performed as a soloist with the Bay View Festival Orchestra and with the Symphony Orchestra of the Catholic University of America as the winner of the annual Concerto/Aria Competition. Ms. Szabó holds a B.M. from Towson University as well as a M.M. from the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music of the Catholic University of America, where she is currently a D.M.A. student. |

Annie Gill, Voice
Most recently, Ms. Gill sang the role of Musetta in La Bohème with Center Stage Opera in Harrisburg, PA. Ms. Gill has also sung the role of Mimì in La Bohème with Opera in the Ozarks, where she received the award of "Best Performance by a Female in a Leading Role." Ms. Gill also performed in Opera in the Ozarks' annual opera gala, as well as in several outreach programs for area schools. Ms. Gill's many opera and musical theatre roles include Fiordiligi ( Così fan Tutte ), Donna Anna ( Don Giovanni ), Noémie ( Cendrillon ), Lauretta ( Gianni Schicchi ), Amy March ( Little Women ), Desdemona ( Otello ), Countess ( Le Nozze di Figaro ), Edith ( The Pirates of Penzance ), Pitti-Sing ( The Mikado ), Rapunzel ( Into the Woods ), and The Sandman ( Hansel and Gretel ). Ms. Gill has sung with several Young Artist Programs and professional companies, including the Emerald City Opera Artist Institute, Intermezzo Young Artist Program, Operafestival di Roma, the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute (BASOTI), the Janiec Opera Company of the Brevard Summer Music Festival, and the Washington Savoyards. Ms. Gill also created the role of the 3rd Woman in the Peabody Chamber Opera's production of The Artist , a world premiere of an opera by H.L.
